Top Tricks You Can Do with SharePoint Online that You Will Love

SharePoint Online is a collaboration and productivity platform hosted by Microsoft’s cloud-based system which included in the Office 365 bundle. You will love it more if you can optimize it’s capabilities that’s why we want to share these 5 tricks that you can start with:

1. Create a SharePoint Team Site
They say that Team sites are the bread and butter of this platform. It connects you and your team to the content, information, and apps you rely on every day. For example, you can use it to store and collaborate on files or to create and manage lists of information.

What is more amazing is that you can create group-connected SharePoint Online team sites in seconds without special coding ability! When you create a group, Office 365 gives the group a shared inbox, a calendar, a OneNote notebook, a default place for files (document library), Planner for task management and a modern team site with pages, lists, libraries and team news.

You can include important apps on your team site home page, here you can view links to important team files, apps, and web pages and see recent site activity in the activity feed.

1. Just click the Create site button then a creation wizard will pop out.
2. Enter the title of the team site, select if the group will be public or private, choose the site classification & preferred language, and then click Next.
3. Enter the owners and members, click Finish and you’re done.
You also have freedom in how you customize your sites with lists, workflows, logos, etc. Once you build the perfect site for your organization, you can save your settings as a template so you don’t have to reconfigure it next time. A template includes the basic framework of the website, including its libraries, content, documents and lists.

2. Collaborate and Co-Author Office Documents

It provides options for real-time or regular co-authoring.

* Real-time collaboration: Track the position of other users in the document and see the changes as they happen.
* Co-authoring: Apply updates made by others when you choose.
Depending on how you want to use it, multiple users can work on Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations concurrently without clashing with one another.

3. Add Files to Your SharePoint Instantly from Your Computer

Its drag-and-drop interface lets you upload documents easily from your computer. You can also upload entire folders at once with Microsoft’s Edge browser that’s built into Windows to access SharePoint Online.

4. Set-up Columns

A key SharePoint feature is its ability to group, filter and sort complex data sets. Learning to use columns enables users to quickly locate information and properly using them will save you a lot of headaches. With columns, users can apply specific criteria to lists and libraries across multiple team sites. For example, you might set up your columns so you can track invoices by customer name and region.

5. Set-up SharePoint Views
It is actually
similar to an email inbox filter. It allows users to fine-tune the default application display so you can sort out irrelevant information. Users can set it up to get quick insight into specific columns of lists and libraries or create a more visually engaging style.
